Meat & fish FAQ

What Meat & fish do you offer?

We offer Farm To Table Meat & fish in Los Angeles sourced from small producers and trusted farms. Clean ingredients, non-GMO options and fast local delivery across Los Angeles.

Is your pork pasture-raised?

Yes. Our pork comes from regenerative farms where pigs roam freely, forage naturally, and live without confinement. That means better texture, richer flavor, and higher levels of beneficial fats like oleic acid.

Why is grass-fed and grass-finished meat more expensive?

Raising animals entirely on grass takes more time, more land, and more care. There’s no shortcut — and that shows up in the price. You’re not just paying for meat — you’re supporting better animal welfare, cleaner agriculture, and higher nutritional value. It’s an investment in your health and the health of the planet.

What does grass-fed and grass-finished beef mean?

Grass-fed and grass-finished beef means the cattle were raised on a diet of grass or forage for their entire lives — never grain. While some products labeled “grass-fed” beef may still be finished on grain, “grass-finished” beef guarantees the cattle stayed on pasture the whole way through. Choosing truly grass-fed and finished beef matters — it ensures you’re getting meat that’s more nutrient-dense, raised more humanely, and produced in a way that’s better for both your health and the environment.

Why can’t I find brands that I’m used to?

We’re careful about what we offer in our store. Many familiar brands contain ingredients we choose to avoid — like added sugars, preservatives, artificial flavors, or nitrates. Instead, we curate a selection of clean-label, pasture-raised options that meet our higher standards for quality and transparency. It might mean fewer choices, but it also means better ones.

Why do you only carry wild fish and seafood?

We believe fish should be as nature intended — clean, nutrient-rich, and responsibly sourced. That’s why we only carry wild-caught fish and seafood. Wild species grow in their natural environment, eat a natural diet, and aren’t exposed to antibiotics, synthetic feeds, or overcrowded conditions common in fish farming. Think of it like the seafood version of pasture-raised beef — more natural, more nutritious, and raised the way it was meant to be.

What makes Tasmanian beef special?

Tasmania’s air is among the cleanest in the world, and that purity extends to its land, water, and farming practices. Cattle are raised on natural pasture, without GMOs, antibiotics, or added hormones. We carry Tasmanian beef because it’s a rare example of truly clean, grass-finished meat from a place where nature is still untouched — and it shows in both flavor and integrity.

How is it possible that your Wagyu beef is grass-fed and grass-finished?

The Wagyu breed is genetically predisposed to develop high-quality marbling even when raised on a 100% grass diet, unlike many other breeds that require grain finishing to achieve rich fat distribution. While traditional Wagyu production often uses grain to enhance marbling quickly, some producers focus on raising Wagyu entirely on pasture. This takes more time and careful grazing management, but thanks to Wagyu’s genetics, the cattle still develop tender, flavorful meat with distinctive marbling—all from grass-fed and grass-finished practices. So, it’s a combination of breed genetics and pasture-based raising that makes this possible.
