Wilde Weide Farmhouse Gouda Cheese
$19.49 8 oz
Made on a single farm in the Netherlands. Wilde Weide ("wild meadow") is a rare, raw milk gouda made on a tiny island farm in the South Holland province by Jan and Roos van Schie. This true farmhouse cheese is crafted in small batches using the milk from the family’s own Montbéliarde cows, then aged for 12 months and imported by Essex Street Cheese Co. Expect a dense, buttery texture with complex flavors of toasted hazelnuts, cured caramel, and warm spices. Each bite offers a deep savory finish, the kind only found in slow-aged, raw-milk cheeses. It’s a stunning table cheese, perfect with crusty bread, pears, or drizzled with honey. Also excellent for grating over roasted vegetables or melting into your favorite gratin. A living expression of traditional Dutch cheesemaking—robust, rustic, and intensely flavorful.
Unpasteurized cow's milk, animal rennet, enzymes, salt. Preferences: Grass-Fed.
